Be careful

This case does not have a face cover like the other ones. I was disappointed to find out that it does not. It still fits nice and snug around the phone and charging ports.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We were concerned that a built-in screen protector would prevent some access to the curved sides. Regardless, we do carry the Alpha Glass, which adds an extra layer of fortified security to the screen itself. As soon as I got my case, I put my brand new cell in it. A few hours later it fell on to rough concrete and bounced a few times.....not even a little scratch..
However, the fact it does not have neither screen protection nor side edges protection makes me nervous...I understand the compromise, but I think previous versions for my Note 3 and Note 5 protected better my phone.

The case is to be expected.....great fitment, feels good and looks good. My issue here is the price. Now i am use to the price of the cases. As ive bought a defender for every phone ive owned. My issues is, they charge the same price for a case that is less protective as the prior. The case doesnt come with the screen protector. Which was a huge advantage with the case prior. Now you pay the same price, but with no fromt screen protection. So now you have to shell out more money to protect your screen. Yet spend the same amount of money for a case, thag now hives you less. Not happy!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I, like many, purchase Otterbox cases because we know it will offer great protection but the price is excessive. I'd like to get more colors but not much is offered and what is available is not worth what I want to do. So I rely on cheaper cases to enjoy the variety I want.

I bought 2 of these cases for myself and my husband. The case itself as always is great. However because of the beveled screen I can't get a screen protector that works without it falling off. They do make some kind of invisashield that is a wipe that can be wiped on that maybe should be sold separate or with paying full price for the case it should be included.

Design has gone down hill.

The case overall is very good however the design has gone downhill .The belt clip part is very flimsy and loose. I am not the only person complaining about this there are many reviews that say the same thing. If you compare the defender case from 2 to 3 years ago versus the defender case of today it's a humungous difference. They went from a very beefy very tough case to this marginally protective flimsy case. I really hope Otter reads these reviews and they make changes in their design otherwise their sales are going to plummet based on these awful reviews they are getting. They remove the screen protector from the otter case and guess what now they offer the alpha glass screen protector for $40 extra. If you buy the alpha glass and the otter case this brings you are phone protection cost up to $100. This is just plain ridiculous. Why would they remove the screen protector from the otter case and then offer of the alpha glass? This is pure profit motive nothing else they are not looking out for you the customer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

An included screen protector could cause hindrance in touch sensitivity, especially around the edges of the phone screen, which was a frustrating experience that we did not want our customers to go through.
As for the belt clip, we would recommend facing your phone screen outwards when putting it in the holster, as this orientation has proven to work best with the Galaxy Note 8 Defender.
