I was very hesitant to switch to electric, but this mower has performed better than I expected hands down. Regardless of grass height it gives a good cut, tall just uses more battery, even then I have not had to stop to charge during mowing. The self propel takes some getting used to as other reviewers have stated.

This is the lawn mower I’ve always wanted!! Powerful but quiet. Electric but cordless. Self-propelled. First mow of the season my neighbor got gas and fired up her mower. Stall. Stall. I pressed a button and plowed right through the thickest grass without hesitation or a stutter. I love this GreenBeast, and I’m sure we’ll be together for a long time!

My tractor mower seized up and the cheap Big box push mower I had wasn't operable for my 5/8" acre lawn, so I went for this Greenworks mower - very easy quiet to use, easy start and store. Batterys don't last as long as I'd like, but they give a solid hour and to be honest after pushing/walking (i've almost only cut long grass this spring, due to failed other mowers, and travel)...and it cuts good well through that...after an hour I'm ready for a break, batteries charge fairly quick half hour

Mower Upgrade to 80 Volts

I have had a Greenworks 40 volt cordless mower for about 8 years. The mower has served me reasonably well but would easily bog down in thicker grass and was somewhat of a reach to finish my 10,000 square foot lawn with four 4 amp batteries. I recently upgraded to the new 80 volt self propelled model (along with an extra 80V 5amp battery to supplement the 2 and 4 amp batteries included) and could not be happier. This model is quite robust and will mow my entire lawn (with bagging) on the 5amp battery with no need for me to slow down at any time. The mower is pretty easy to push so I do not use the self-propel feature as I like the extra exercise. My wife does use self-propel and uses part of a second battery to finish the lawn. My purchase of the extra 5amp battery was probably unnecessary but I do not regret it. Overall, this is a big improvement from the 40 volt days.

There is now absolutely no reason to continue the hassle of burning fossil fuels to keep your yard well groomed. This Greenworks lawnmower is lighter and more maneuverable than the gas rig it replaced, and it has all the same features plus more. You don't need to go get gas, worry about the gas aging through the winter and gumming up the carburetor. No fumes and almost no noise. The first time I mowed the lawn my wife said she never heard me and was surprised because she didn't know I was mowing. The neighbors will appreciate the difference. This unit comes with a headlight to brighten up those dark places under that bush or shrub so you can see what you're doing. My favorite feature is the vertical storage. My old mower was difficult to hose off for cleaning the under-deck after mowing. This one just stands up and makes the clean up a breeze, which also makes inspecting the blade simple. There's also plenty of battery power for me to get the whole lawn mowed with less than one charge on the 4Ah battery, provided I don't use the turbo setting. Mulching makes the grass clippings virtually disappear, no bagging and hauling required. Lighter, quieter, environmentally friendly and virtually maintenance free. What more can you ask from a lawnmower?
