I've mowed with it three times now and I love it! Admittedly, I have a small yard that takes about 20 minutes to mow. I didn't charge the big battery after one mowing and got through another complete mowing without touching the smaller 2ah battery. I will be adding other tools to the collection soon.
I'm super impressed with this electric mower. I got two batteries with it, and I can charge one while I'm mowing with the other one. It was packaged well, easy to assemble, and easy to start. I like the quietness of it, also. It's lightweight, and I've had no problems with it. I do not keep my lawn mowed down to the turf, but at 2.5 - 3" and the mower does fine cutting it. I also like the easy height adjustment. The overall design of it seems well engineered, and I can be done mowing while my neighbor is still pulling that starter rope.
I have about 2/3 of an acre to mow and can do it with the batteries without stopping to charge. With the light weight of the mower I could not use the self-propelled but I still do -lol. I love this mower and hope the longevity is good as (I just got this mower and have used four times). There are a few quirks you have to get used to which is probably just related from going from a gas mower to electric.
After owning a 40volt I expected the 80volt to be more powerful and more self propelled.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Just a mower,
Thank you for your question and interest in Greenworks Tools! When it comes to the comparison of our voltage lines, the higher the voltage, the more power the motor has. With that said, the 80V lawn mower would be more powerful. However, the higher the ampere-hour (Ah) rating is on a battery, the longer the run time will be. If you are doing light to medium jobs, any of the Greenworks 40V Axial platform will suffice. However, if you wish for more power than the 80v line would be the best choice. It is worth noting, with the added power comes a heavier unit. If you have a specific question or would like more information, please feel welcome to speak to a Greenworks representative directly at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).
Excellent mower but not perfect. would choose 4.5 stars if I could.

I'm very happy to be using an electric mower and not smell like exhaust after mowing the lawn. Battery life and handling are great. It's not too heavy and I can easily mow for more than one hour since I don't use the Turbo or self propel functions very much. I like the option for using one or two batteries depending on the job or how heavy you want the mower to be. My only complaints are that the bolt for the right side of the handle keeps coming loose and the self propel has a lag to start up and also to disengage. If you want to pull the mower backwards, you have to release the self propel lever a couple seconds before you want it to go backward. I also like the ability to run the self propel with out running the blade.
What’s there to say about this? It lasts for the entire yard. I start by using my 80 volt string trimmer and then when I’m done with that, I take that battery from the trimmer and put it in the left side of the mower. It uses that battery first and then the second battery on the right (in my experience). The cut is better than ANY mower I’ve ever used. Even my grandfather who saw me mowing using this thing was impressed and he is apparently thinking of getting on for himself since his gas mower is nearly a decade old and he’s tired of all the maintenance. Speaking of maintenance, there really isn’t any on this machine, other than keeping it clean and sharpening the blade once in a while. I was also mowing later in the evening a few weeks back and I made a discovery that I don’t recall seeing on the page when I first purchased the mower: this thing has a headlight and does a decent job of lighting up just in front of the mower. This is the best mower I’ve ever had and I’ve become a customer for life!
This lawn mower is perfect for me. I love not having to deal with gas and I can use the batteries for other tools as well. Lawn mower is nice and works well. I like the simple design and the ability to go faster or slower. I can cut my whole yard with both batteries (~2500 sq ft)
