This Mach has the power to do it all, when I got it my grass was out of control and it plowed right through it.

What’s there to say about this?
It lasts for the entire yard.
I start by using my 80 volt string trimmer and then when I’m done with that, I take that battery from the trimmer and put it in the left side of the mower. It uses that battery first and then the second battery on the right (in my experience).
The cut is better than ANY mower I’ve ever used. Even my grandfather who saw me mowing using this thing was impressed and he is apparently thinking of getting on for himself since his gas mower is nearly a decade old and he’s tired of all the maintenance.
Speaking of maintenance, there really isn’t any on this machine, other than keeping it clean and sharpening the blade once in a while.
I was also mowing later in the evening a few weeks back and I made a discovery that I don’t recall seeing on the page when I first purchased the mower: this thing has a headlight and does a decent job of lighting up just in front of the mower.
This is the best mower I’ve ever had and I’ve become a customer for life!

Love the whole Greenworks line

I realize this review will read like I was paid, unfortunately I wasn’t, but I love every one of my Greenworks products. I now own a weed eater, hedge trimmer, pole saw, 2 blowers and now this lawnmower. The key to every one of these is they just work exactly as you want. I’ve had a few of these for over 3 years and still running strong. This lawnmower? Same thing. Out of the box. Charge the battery, put it in and it works. Plenty of power, super light, works exactly as I want it to. Thanks Greenworks! Keep up the good work!

I am a single mom and a small business owner, mowing the grass is something I don't have time for. I hope my perspective can help potential buyers like me who don't love mowing. I was thrilled to find an electric mower with longer battery life for a large yard. The batteries charge quickly and swap out as many times as needed to get the whole yard done. Since I hate mowing I started on the lowest blade setting to cut the grass short, it left sorched earth. So start at a high setting and go down, it is simple to adjust. The mower is extremely light weight and quiet. I fell like I'm pushing a toy mower, yet it mows great. The bag picks up grass very well unless the bag gets too full or if the blade setting is low (probably too low). I love not inhaling the exhaust and be deafened by the motor of my old gas mower. This mower performs well, is environmentally friendly and so easy to operate, I will never go back to a gas mower!

I got tired of replacing carburetors every year, so I researched cordless electric mowers. The reviews consistently pointed to Greenworks as being the best. The no risk guarantee sold me, so I ordered online. I have about 1/4 acre of lawn to mow, with a lot of maneuvering around flower beds. I received it from the company about four days after I ordered it. Assembly was minimal, and did not require special tools or "another set of hands."
The batteries came partially charged, so I decided to go ahead and give it a try. My previous mower had been self-propelled and battery start, and was a real chore, because the self-propelled feature would just leave the wheels spinning in the grass. The 21" Greenworks was a dream to push. It is so lightweight that it took no effort to get it around the yard. Even starting with the partially charged battery, I had plenty of juice to get the lawn mowed. It cut evenly , even on my irregular lawn. The battery charges quickly, so I was able to get enough power for my trimmer as well.
I love the fact that I can adjust the wheel height of all four wheels with one lever, and it is a smooth operation to raise and lower them.

Delighted with Pro 80V Cordless 21" Self-Propelled

I was a two-stroke Lawn Boy die-hard user. Never considered a battery mower until recently. Since I had so much luck with my GreenWorks edger and trimmer and support, I finally decided to get the GreenWorks Pro 80V Cordless 21" Self-Propelled Lawn Mower w/ 5.0 Ah Battery (directly from the company, as it was priced better than the big "A"). It is a great mower, performs beautifully, and I am so pleased with my purchase. My yard is done in with NO need to recharge the battery, and best of all, gas, oil, air filters, tuning, carbs, plugs, smoke, etc. are gone forever!

Beat my expectation!

Bought to replace a top-brand self-propelled that after 2 years was having starting issues. A neighbor told me about his experience with his Greenworks mower so I gave it a try.
1st) It's so light I find I don't even use the self-propel mode all the time. 2nd) The power was easily enough (even bagging my tall fescue). 3rd) I think it bagged better than my old mower and filled the bag more completely. 4th) I had plenty of battery left after bagging my 14,000 SF lot (I don't know how much of that the house takes up, though).
SO... This mower is faster, lighter, simpler, and more reliable than my top-of-the-line old mower. This 80V lawnmower works amazingly well, and it puts this product line in a position where gas is finally obsolete.

Very light-duty grass only

very disappointed with this machine. what I did in 30 minutes with a gas mower takes me 2 days! with this machine, and its still not 100% done. I bought an extra battery and it is still very disappointing how weak the motor is. It shuts down and kills battery at the slightest hiccup
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello turfted,

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the run time of this battery when used in this lawn mower.
It is important to adjust your mowing techniques to make the most out of the battery life but it goes without saying that that the harder the unit works, the quicker the battery drains.

Here are a few mowing tips to help achieve the optimal run time.

1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings.

2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months.

3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily.

4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging.

We hope these tips will help! If not, we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please contact us directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us on Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. We would like the opportunity to speak with you to see if we can find a solution. All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.
