I am a professional gardener and needed a reliable lawnmower that didn't run on gas. Greenworks lawnmower has proven to be tops in performance. My company will continue with Greenworks products.

I recently purchased the mower and have used it 3 or 4 times. Short version: if you have a small or large flat suburban golf course you can stop reading and just go buy it, it cuts well and is very quiet. If you have a large hilly yard with the occasional mole hill you should probably still buy it but you will want to think about it.
The good: it cuts grass well, is pretty fast at its highest speed setting, is very quiet, battery life is good and recharges quickly. The not so good: the drive mechanism is a bit slow to engage and especially disengage, but you quickly adapt to that similar to regenerative braking in an electric car. You learn to disengage 2-3 feet before you change direction or the wheels stay engaged with the drive and you can't pull backward. Fortunately it's light and it's easy to push that last foot or two. The biggest disappointment for me is the blade. It's very soft and dings up really easily. For those of us with the occasional mole hill and gravel driveways you will be sharpening a lot. On the plus side it sharpens easily since it's so soft but I'd rather work harder less often. It's also a terrible mulcher. The Honda dual blade mulching mower I retired for this unit just made grass and leaves go away, turning them into a fine powder that required a mask if it was dry, and sucked up wet leaves from the ground. This mower just turns grass and leaves into smaller pieces and gums up the deck with wet mulch. With a better blade/mulching this could be a full 5 star machine, but it gets 4, 2.5 for mulching and 4.5 for cutting with a generous round up to 4 since I mow a lot more than I mulch leaves. As a dry mower it is excellent. In real life when you have to mow when wet (I live in Oregon) it's less than excellent but still pretty good overall. I recommend it, I'm happy I made the switch, the smug satisfaction I get from using electricity and not having to fill the gas tank, the quiet, it all works for me, but it is more of a chef's knife than a cleaver. It rewards delicacy and patience, if you are an impatient bruiser you might want to stick to dead dino power.

Out of the box and mowing in no time! I was so impressed with the quality of the mower and the quietness of the motor. I shopped around and was so glad I found the "Made in the USA" product.

Mower was incredibly easy to set up out of the box and did a terrific job on its first use - cut even and bag was easy to empty. Even with my lawn being flat happy I got the self-propelled version of the 80V to maximize ease of use

I have used this mower twice since receiving it. The first cut was at its highest setting as my yard had gotten completely out of control with weeds almost a foot tall. It was so smooth and powered through all of those weeds without any problem. The simplicity of start and stop compared to typical gas made bagging and emptying the bag so easy. It was the fastest I have ever cut the lawn. A week or so later I went back to do a proper cut on my zoysia lawn. I set the mower at 4 height and went to work. My lawn is very thick in some places and you could hear the mower power up to get through those areas. Again smooth cut and easy bagging process. With the thickness of the grass, I was actually worried the battery would die before I finish. My yard is very steep and I was using the self-propel feature a lot. It had no problem and the lawn looked great. The easy adjust height made it easy to cut the edge without scalping it like often happened with my previous mower. Delivery is not the fastest, so be patient - it is worth the wait!

I am very happy with my new Greenworks lawn mower. I have a severe case of arthritis in several joints in my body. I had a self-propelled Cub Cadet mower with a steel deck. It was hard for me to use. My Greenworks mower is much lighter & easier to handle. I was thinking of hiring a lawn service, but with this mower I will be able to mow my own yard for several more years. I am really impressed with the sensor technology. When i hit the thick grass by my septic system, the rpm's increase until i get thru it. With my old mower, i had to slow down or go back over it. My lawn looks uniform & clean cut. Plus, i can use the battery in my Greenworks snowblower too(which is very efficient).
