[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great mower! I upgraded to this 25'' 60V from a 40V greenworks 19'' push as my very fast growing 0.5 acre lawn required many battery swaps with the 40v. It didn't get 5 stars as its a bit tough to corner (if only they'd have a cornering/turning switch, either variable speed, or lock inside wheel like some full size tractors). It does bog down when attempting extra tall grass, or wet grass.

Hello PNWmowernerd,

Thank you for choosing Greenworks for your lawn care needs! Greenworks designed this with a brushless motor that is based off our 60V platform. This means more power and longer run times. One cool aspect to this mower is the Smart Cut load-sensing Technology which means it is not always running full speed. If the mower senses a thicker part of the lawn or needs more power, automatically senses load & ramps from 2800-3200 RPM, when more power is needed. This not only helps the mower get through tough conditions, but also helps save on battery and provides a longer run time.
If the grass is too tall you should mow much smaller strips at a time. Grass that's too long is also hard to mow, and the extra-long clippings create more work, since they usually need to be raked or bagged. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1-1/2 to 2" (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months and more than 2" (5 cm) long during hot months.
If mowing has been delayed and the grass has been allowed to grow in excess of 4", mow twice to reduce the grass height to 3-3/4" maximum.
Grass is always taller than you think. Many times, it is 6" or higher before you know it.

Great Electric Mower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mower is easy to use and its lighter weight than gas powered similar mowers is really helpful. The 60v batteries have great power between charges and last quite a long time. I can mow about 1/2 acre on one charge between the two included batteries as the mower switches seamlessly between the 2 battery compartments.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good. 2 cuts and i love it. Only knock is it does not have a side shoot. Would have loved a discount on a 3rd battery, as i have .81acres, but so far ive been good. I ordered a 3rd from a 3rd party.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mower is excellent. I purchased because it stated it is good for picking up leaves. It does as stated while giving a great cut.

First lawn I have mowed in 25 years. Works well.
on May 24, 2024

I have had this mower for two complete mowings of my yard.
My Garmin watch says I walked 2.8 miles in doing that mowing yesterday. The two 4 Amp-Hour batteries did the job. The first battery expired, but the second battery was still on its last bar.
I have a 2.5 amp-hour and 3 amp-hour battery. Last week, I started off with those two batteries while the two 4 amp-hour batteries charged. The two smaller batteries did not make it. But the 4 AH batteries had charged up by the end of the wee batteries. No problem.
Overall the mower works just fine. Grass goes to the bag well enough. The sound still requires me to protect my ears, but nothing like gasoline engines.
Two things could be improved. One, the variable speed switch is hard to control when bouncing across the bumpy lawn. Three times I have had it jump to higher speed on its own. The range of the lawn mower speed is not so great that it is a danger. I think the switch could use notches so that it can be changed more accurately and won’t change on its own.
Second, the wheel base is so long that it is hard to mow along the fence lines. I find myself pulling it back out as it tends to want to dive into the fence. Something in the rear wheel drive makes it hard to pull it back. It is as if you drop it out of drive mode, the rear wheels stay in engaged but not driving.

Pleased but not thrilled.

Overall, 3-stars might be a little harsh but I couldn't bring myself to go higher. Made the switch from a gas powered Honda to this and I do love the reduced noise and never needing gas. It rolls very easily and the drive propulsion is quick (maybe a little too quick) and has plenty of power.
A couple of areas that could use improvement: The cutting & mulching performance leaves a lot to be desired.. it leaves clumps of grass in its wake and long blades of grass sitting on top of the lawn as though they were pulled up instead of cut. Could be the the two small 13" blades for the 25" model? In hindsight, I probably should have gone with the 22" and used the mulching blade like my Honda had, but unfortunately there is no option to exchange and no small mulching blades available for the 25" deck. With a small corner lot, bagging my clippings isn't an option since I have no where to put them... is what it is. There's also this weird delay using the self-propelled feature where the wheel seem to stay engaged for a second or so after you let go of the lever so you end up dragging it because the wheels are locked unless you remember to disengage it a couple feet before the end of your run. Small nuisances. I'm a little disappointed but overall pleased with it, just not thrilled.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Environmentally Safe, Powerful

Hello Ryan85,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience!
Running a lawnmower at less than full throttle can cause its blades to run at a lower speed than is necessary to make a complete cut. Lawnmowers are designed to run at full throttle when their mowing blades are engaged. Anything less than full throttle results in poor cutting, which includes those annoying streaks of grass left behind with each pass. Hopefully this information will assist in a more enjoyable user experience.
