Cheap plastic gears, replacements are wrong

I need replacement R0200744-00. They say it is the same as other part numbers. It is NOT. I would think the company would be aware of what parts are in their products. I need the actual replacement, not the incorrect one and not a link to the wrong one.

Junk

I honestly can’t believe these reviews are for the same mower I am about to return. It was more frustrating to use than my broken down gas mower it was supposed to replace. The longest run time I got was 15 minutes. On one occasion when I put the battery on the charger it would blink red after 15 minutes use in 70 degree weather. The grass was not long. My first time cutting was early in the morning and the mower was constantly clogging up and shutting off. I tried again another day when the grass was dry. Same deal. Each time this happens it leaves a huge pile of grass behind. The grass it did cut was very uneven with clippings on top. This mower does nothing close to “mulching”. The issue with the wheels locking up when you back up and turn is not as some reviews refer to as “ something you get used to” it is a design flaw. I thought a recommendation from Popular Mechanics was an indication of a good product. I will never consider them for a purchase again and I will never deal with your company. Again this mower is a piece of junk.

Hello TKen,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the run time of this battery when used in this lawn mower. It is important to adjust your mowing techniques to make the most out of the battery life! This unit is advertised as running up to 80 minutes of continuous run-time* with two included 4.0 Ah batteries, but it goes without saying that that the harder the unit works, the quicker the battery drains. Here are a few mowing tips to help achieve the optimal run time. 1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings. 2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months. 3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily. 4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please submit an email using the customer contact page on our website or give us a call at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information. Lastly, regarding the wheels locking when pulling back on the mower, that is a safety feature that UL requires. To prevent wheel lockup simply push the mower slightly forward after releasing the self-propel lever before pulling backwards on the mower. We hope this information helps you understand our product better, and perhaps encourages you to give it a second chance!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lawnmower is so easy to assemble. Pull handle up from the base, slide into arm supports and screw into place. Done and ready to go! I like that it has a speed control using the icons of a rabbit for faster and a turtle for slower. The batteries took a few hours to charge as expected and are easy to insert as they will only go in one way! I would recommend that the red key be attached by a cable of some sort so as not to ever lose the key. Also the other thing that could become an issue - the handles inside contain the cables for the self propel. But there is also a screw that goes into the handle to connect it to the frame. The problem I see that could happen is if the screw clips the cable it could damage the self propel feature. Just a safety issue I thought of . But I like that the mower does come with a mulcher if I wanted to use that. It is easy to operate altho it took me a bit to get comfortable with the handles. There are three handles if you will. The regular handle you grip to control the mower. The green handles to start and keep it running and they grey handles to engage the self propel. It’s not difficult once you remember what handles do what. It pivots relatively easy, just release the self propel handle - grey one. The two batteries lasted long enough to cut both the front yard and the back yard and my yard looks great! Overall a great lawnmower ! Highly recommend.

Better than Expected

I have an average size neighborhood yard. Does not even use up 1 battery in the 45 minutes it takes to finish. I run it with just one battery in it, so it is relatively light weight when I push it without using the self-propelled feature.

I'm an 66-year-old woman who's grown weary of hiring cowboys to mow the lawn. In addition to the expense, they're not always as thorough or careful as I'd like them to be. Our lawn is about a half acre, mostly flat, so I wanted to try and do it myself. I don't mind getting some exercise, but I don't want to hurt myself, so I knew I wanted a self-propelled push mower. I also knew I didn't want a stinky gas engine. After doing the research, I chose this mower. I'm so glad I did. It's easy to operate and does a fantastic job. The lawn has never looked better! It's so cool that one battery automatically switches over to the other when needed. I have done the entire lawn and haven't run out of juice yet. This is a great mower. You're gonna love it!
