The turbo boost setting does provide a noticeable increase in blade speed, but I can’t say I noticed a big difference, especially in its ability to pick up leaves.

Speed control could give a bit more range (like slower speed) to handle even thicker stuff, but I'm not disappointed. One thing to keep in mind is there is no side discharge. You have to either mulch or bag, no other options. I either missed that in the description or it wasn't mentioned.
