No more pollution or mowing with a heavy mower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have hated mowing knowing I was damaging the environment burning gas. After seeing that Consumer Report rated Greenworks as their #1 battery operated lawn mower, I went for it. I am so glad! This mower is so light that when I mow the hill in my front yard I don't feel like I'm also lugging a boulder back and forth. With the GW mower, mowing the hill was easy and it's so light, so easy to turn. And I no longer have to wear ear protection! Even though it's a bit louder than I expected, I could probably have a conversation with someone while I mowed without yelling.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy with my purchase so far. The battery life has not been as long as originally expected, but I am dealing with heavy spring grass and a property with a lot of grading. I think what I have gotten so far has been fair, and I expect it to improve significantly as it heats up this summer. Mower is super easy to use, very quiet in comparison to a gas mower, and pretty maneuverable once you get the hang of the drivetrain.

An Engineering Wonder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mower is the best thing ever. Here's why:
25" is a real nice width for a push mower. Dual blades
I don't use the self-propulsion at all. I like a bit of a workout.
With its small but powerful BLDC motors, it's lighter than most push mowers. Zero fumes and low noise. Charger has a cooling fan so batteries charge fast without overheating. Charging one while using the other allows for continuous mowing. I have 1.3 acres, and this thing tears through it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

First lawn I have mowed in 25 years. Works well.

I have had this mower for two complete mowings of my yard.
My Garmin watch says I walked 2.8 miles in doing that mowing yesterday. The two 4 Amp-Hour batteries did the job. The first battery expired, but the second battery was still on its last bar.
I have a 2.5 amp-hour and 3 amp-hour battery. Last week, I started off with those two batteries while the two 4 amp-hour batteries charged. The two smaller batteries did not make it. But the 4 AH batteries had charged up by the end of the wee batteries. No problem.
Overall the mower works just fine. Grass goes to the bag well enough. The sound still requires me to protect my ears, but nothing like gasoline engines.
Two things could be improved. One, the variable speed switch is hard to control when bouncing across the bumpy lawn. Three times I have had it jump to higher speed on its own. The range of the lawn mower speed is not so great that it is a danger. I think the switch could use notches so that it can be changed more accurately and won’t change on its own.
Second, the wheel base is so long that it is hard to mow along the fence lines. I find myself pulling it back out as it tends to want to dive into the fence. Something in the rear wheel drive makes it hard to pull it back. It is as if you drop it out of drive mode, the rear wheels stay in engaged but not driving.

Easy to use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this mower to replace a 12 yo competitor’s electric mower. The Greenworks mower is easy to assemble and operate. The deck is metal and sturdy. The handles are easy to adjust for height and fold up for storage. This mower is wider at 25” and heavier, so it takes less time to mow and requires a bit more muscle when not using the self-propelled feature. The self-propelled feature is effective and easy to initiate. The mower comes with two 4.0 ah batteries and I can mow my lawn with just one battery. My lawn is a little over 10k SF minus the house and driveway. I can complete the mowing in about 1 hour. The batteries charge quickly once fully charged the first time. My only complaint is that the mower is a little awkward to turn, but not a dealbreaker. Maintenance is easy, like my previous electric mower. I particularly like that this mower has a safety key. I purchased my previous electric mower so that my young teen son could help with the mowing and I would feel comfortable allowing a teen to use this one also.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a small yard so 25" is probably overkill, little hard to manuver in tight spaces. self propel is great, cuts grass well, light. didnt even use the whole battery.
