Wide Cut Path Saves Time; Plenty of Power

Pros: --Powerful. Cuts nice and clean. Cuts cleaner than the gas mower it's replacing. --Wide cutting path. Less time needed for the job. --Extra set of blades in the box. --2 4ah batteries. If not using the self-propel function, 1 battery sufficient to cover 1/6 acre in an adverse setting: tall, wet grass, and mower height set low (3). Two batteries more than sufficient to cover 1/3 acre. --automatic front light. Cons --No Side Discharge. This was a surprise. However, I seldom, if ever, have used this feature, so not at all a problem to me, though it might be to others. --Small Chamber for Mulching. This is a byproduct of the design, which incorporates two shorter blades that work side by side to achieve the 25" cut width. Smaller chamber means that it can fill up with grass clippings faster and potentially create the choking condition. Especially on wet grass. --when one battery ran out of juice, there was no seamless transition to the other battery. In other words, the cutting stopped and needed to be started back again. I intend to recreate this scenario and confirm one more time before contacting support for advice. That there would be automatic and seamless transition of power from one battery to the other, so that there would be no interruption to the operation, was my understanding based on the company's own promotional video. REVIEW: Have had Greenworks 60v trimmer and blower for more than 3 years, and have been happy with their performance. Easy choice, then, to look to the Greenworks 60v platform for a replacement mower when the gas mower finally made its last call. The 25" cutting width was the other draw for me, and it doesn't disappoint. Mower arrived in the afternoon, and, after charging the batteries, went to test the mower the same evening. It got dark pretty soon, and two aspects of the mower became immediately clear: one, it's much quieter than the gas mower; and, two, the front headlights that illuminate the path forward is a very, very nice feature! Made it possible to continue mowing in the dark. Initially made the mistake of setting the mower height too low at 2, on wet and tall grass, and experienced choking. That's operator error. Recovered from the situation by changing the cut height to 3 and also removing the mulching block. In hindsight, it appears that 3 would be the right height for late fall/winter mowing in my case. No more choking stops after that. Cuts nice and clean. And also mulches well even with the mulching block removed. Very satisfying to go over a blanket of fallen leaves and watch the leaves simply disappear. In the fall, when the leaves fall, instead of bagging them, I mulch them on the spot with the mower. Have been doing this for several years, and I believe the grass has been the better because of this practice. This mower did a great job in that respect. Plenty of power to pull up leaves embedded in the grass. Nice clean carpet of grass is all that remains after the job is done. The wider cut width means the job gets done faster. One hour and done, versus hours of raking and bagging, and free fertilizer for the grass is bonus. This mower passes the most important test for me. I hope it passes longevity and durability tests.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful
I bought this mower over 3 years ago and it ran great with no issues. The batteries are still going strong!!
Recently a small gear in the transmission box wore out causing the blades to knock together. The warranty covered the issue and they replaced the mower! Customer service was great and the warranty is outstanding!
I've had this for about 6 weeks now. What a difference from the Gas powered 20 inch cut. Easy to use. Self propelled a nice add. less storage space needed in the shed. Super easy to switch from mulch to bag. Can't wait to start adding other 60v tools.
I've had this lawn mower for more than a year and the only plus is I don't have to use gas. The negatives of this lawn mower are I'm not able to use the lower height setting. It constantly clogs, stops and grass clippings get the blades stuck, usually at the 4 height setting or less. Batteries do drain quicker especially with the previous issues listed. The components are plastic and cheaply made. The extra blade that was provided, which is for extreme conditions is not so great for the so called extreme conditions. It's similar to the regular blades. I'm in the process of purchasing a riding mower, but am considering a different brand instead of going for another Green works product.
Pros: Quiet

Really wanted to love this mower. But every time I use it after about 15 mini Itex it beeps 3 times and stops. I can either stop and wait minutes or open the battery port and press the battery button and then it will start again. This is very annoying when you have over an hours worth of cutting to do.
Pros: Quiet, Environmentally Safe

Bought this 11 months ago, accidentally hit a small 1 inch stump and blades stopped rotating. In hoping there was an easy fix I took off the top to find 1 of the 4 plastic gears had cracked into 4 pieces and clearly was not going to catch. I was hoping to find a plastic gear that I could easily reinstall and make the mower functional again. When calling Greenworks they told me taking it apart voided the warranty and they could not help me I have to buy an entirely new lawn mower. They told me I can't get a replacement gear to repair it either even when I offered to buy this. Absolutely absurd that an "environmentally" oriented company wants me to throw away a perfectly usable mower rather than replace a 4 inch circular plastic gear. If you have this mower, it's only a matter of time before one of these plastic gears breaks, or something else, on you and they tell you to throw it away because it can't be fixed and you need to buy a new one. What a waste of plastic and materials, an environmentally conscious company would want to customers to be able to fix and reuse their mower.
Pros: Quiet, Environmentally Safe

Dear Matt29,
We're sorry to hear of this unfortunate event. While this unit is designed to have some resilience, there is no guarantee that damage will not occur if a rock or other hard object is struck. For best practice and to ensure that the unit remains damage-free, remove all obstacles such as rocks and tree limbs prior to mowing. We see that you have been in contact with us if you would like us to refer you to your local repair center to assist in this matter please contact us once more directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us on Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934.
This is the 3rd year of owning this unit. It does a very good job on my yard which is level and about 30' by 40' on the front and 25' by 30' on the back yard. The grass is mostly Floratam (centipede variant) and some sections have Bermuda grass. The 25" cutting swath allows you to put the wheels on the edge of the last cut and still have good coverage. It is definitely noticeable in the amount of time to cut the yard over a 21" or 22" mower. Here are what I consider pros and cons. Pro: Quiet, good cutting, good run time with the two 4.0 ah batteries and the most important has been the reliability I have had with this mower. Con: The slowest self propelled speed should be slightly slower. The adjustable handlebar height should have a little more options on height adjustment. The unit has back wheel drive and so that tends to allow the front to raise right as you start as the unit appears to be heavier on the back side. Lastly, it would help in weight distribution and also turning ability to have castering wheels on the front.
I talked to a neighbor into buying one after letting him borrow mine. He had two units that had problems but customer service definitely took care of him. This 3rd unit has been owned for a year is performing like mine
