Some redesign needed.

I have only had this about a week. The problem I am having is grass clinging to the deck. I am mowing dense grass, and it seems like about every ten or so minutes, I must tip the mower up and clear the grass packed around the blades. Also, maybe I am not supposed to be using it this way, but I removed the plug, expecting rear discharge. It discharges some, but clogs quickly.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the clogging issues you are experiencing. In dense or damp grass conditions, buildup under the deck can occur more quickly, especially when cutting at a lower height setting or when the grass is taller than the recommended one-third blade removal per pass. For best performance, we recommend mowing when the grass is dry, raising the cutting height slightly, and making multiple passes rather than attempting to cut heavy growth in a single pass, as this significantly reduces material accumulation under the deck. It is also important to ensure the correct discharge configuration is used for your mowing mode; while rear discharge can be used on compatible setups, it is not intended to fully eliminate clogging in heavy or wet conditions, as airflow dynamics under the deck still rely on blade speed and deck clearance. Periodic deck cleaning during use is sometimes necessary in dense conditions, but frequent buildup may indicate cutting conditions that exceed optimal operating parameters for the mower. We appreciate the feedback on design performance and will share it with our product team for review. We hope you will find this information useful. If you require any additional support or have questions regarding a product, we recommend trying our Q&A section on products' page or Chat with us direct on our website or call 1-888-909-6757. I bought this about 3 years ago. I have a 1/6 acre yard and it takes 2 charging rounds to get it all cut. If you try to cut tall grass it just stalls. I think this is some kind to safety setting to prevent motor over-heating. The blades don't stay sharp and to location of the self-propelling setting is right where it gets bumped to full speed or crawl. The light isn't necessary, but it never worked.
I bought this because I'm not fond of gasoline stored in the garage and my wife kept running over the cord of our corded mower.
Pros: Environmentally Safe

Hello ACD Walker. Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback and for being a Greenworks customer. We understand your concerns regarding runtime, performance in taller grass, and some of the design elements you mentioned. For a 1/6 acre yard, needing multiple charge cycles can occur depending on grass thickness, cutting height, and mowing conditions, as thicker or taller grass places a heavier load on the motor and can trigger protective features designed to prevent overheating or overcurrent. To help improve performance, we recommend mowing more frequently and avoiding cutting more than one-third of the grass height at a time, as well as raising the deck height when tackling taller or dense areas. Ensuring the blades are kept sharp and clean can also significantly improve cutting efficiency and reduce strain on the motor. If the mower is stalling, checking underneath the deck for buildup and confirming the blades spin freely (with the battery removed) can help identify any resistance issues. Regarding runtime, alternating between the two included batteries and allowing them to fully cool before recharging can help optimize overall performance. For the self-propel control sensitivity, making sure the handle is fully secured and adjusting hand positioning may help minimize accidental changes during operation. As for the headlight, if it has never functioned, that may indicate a wiring or component issue, and our success team can review that further if the unit is still within the warranty period. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, or by calling 1-888-909-6757.

This is a great mower. I trashed my gas and wanted to go all electric. The 25' makes mowing quick, and it cuts close to edges, making weed trimming fast. I was so excited to get an electric mower so I could mow at night when it is cooler. This mower is quiet and has a nice LED light on it. It will not light up the yard, but will keep you from running into things. I love the way it folds up. I have an 8x5 shed in the backyard, and this mower folds up and fits in it perfectly. I live on a .25 of an acre, house lot, and the two batteries will mow my yard with no problem; in fact, I will use the same batteries for my weed trimmer and blower. Battery charging is quick. When I first got my mower, the batteries were dead. It took about 40 min to fully charge the two batteries.
