Would love to be able to mow my front lawn in one day

I have a moderately-sized yard. I can’t even mow my whole front or back lawn on both batteries. I keep the assist off and at the level 3 setting. The company is giving me the run-around about trying to replace these default batteries.

Hello Alacy,

It is unfortunate to hear that the run time is unsatisfactory. The run time of a lawnmower is dependent on the load acting against the unit and fluctuates depending on the height setting, the terrain, grass height, type of grass, whether you are mulching, using self-propelled function etc. - there are so many factors to consider. The run-time of a battery would depend on the load acting on the unit while in use (speed, terrain, unit height, grass height, and density). Please be aware that the more power being used from the lawn mower (i.e. lawn mower speed, terrain, grass height, density, etc.), the faster the battery charge will drain. Here are a few tips to help you extend the run time.
1) Set the mower to the highest cutting height (or 1/3 of the length of grass), mow no more than 1/3 of the total length at a time.
2) Mow in the morning or late afternoon to reduce the heat stress on newly cut grass and ensure that grass is dry.
Lastly, when the battery is placed in the charger the charger detects the temperature of the battery and will begin charging once it cools down slightly to charge. This is normal operation based on the protection system in the charger. All is operating as intended. We hope these tips will help you with the issue you have encountered.
We see you have been in touch with our team. We are happy they were able to support you and that we are working towards a resolution.

Ok Lawnmower, bad company

The lawnmower works well enough. If you need an extra battery or a part for the lawnmower, you're SOL. They also failed to include the chute and mulch plug in my box.

Battery problem for 60v 5.0

Bought it two years ago. Worked great at the beginning. The battery lasted just enough to cut my entire lawn. But the battery got weaker and weaker. It now won't even cut 1/4 of the lawn in one charge. The battery indicator shows 3 of 4 but it stops working.

Hello there,

We are sorry to hear about this. We are sorry to hear about the experience you have encountered with this battery. The overall battery life is dependent on many factors such as where they have been stored, charged, and handled. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. It is recommended to store the battery with a full charge, and if it is being stored for a period where no use is expected, to check on the charge every couple of months. If you notice the charge has dropped, we advise charging the battery back up to full before returning it to its safe storage place. Following these steps will ensure you receive the most of the battery life. For further assistance, please call 1-888-909-6757 or submit an email to our team at info@greenworkstools.com.

Better than expected

I have about a quarter acre lot and one fully charged battery is sufficient to mow the entire yard. My yard also has a slope but pushing the lawnmower up and down is not a challenge as it is light enough to easily move. The single blade and brushless motor provide a clean quit cut and the grass looks better than either gas powered mower I used.

Very easy to maneuver, glad I saved by not getting self-propelled model. Crazy how quiet it is too.

Hello LoveLinesS,

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you are feeling let down by the run time that you are currently receiving. The run time is dependent on the load acting against the unit among other factors.

On your next mow, please utilize the following tips to extend your run time!

1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings.
2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months.
3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily.
4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging.

To investigate whether your run time is normal, please feel welcome to contact us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).

This is a great mower for a 5000 square ft yard. Plenty of power and smooth cut. I got this after having excellent experience with 60v blower and trimmer.

Welcome to the Future!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am extremely happy with my initial uses of this lawnmower. It was easy to unpack and assemble. Once I used to to mow my lawn for the first time, I was floored! Say goodbye to the noise, the gas smell, the hassle of getting a combustion engine started, etc. It made doing the age-old chore of lawn mowing a breeze and actually enjoyable. It seems just as powerful as my old gas mower when it comes to cutting taller grass.. maybe even more so due to the torque of the electric motor. The self-powered features make it super easy to get the job done fast and without breaking a sweat. I feel like I've been welcomed into the future. I love how it folds up for easy storage as space is usually at a premium in our crowded garage. Greenworks nailed it!
