I have used this mower 4 times now after buying it in March. It cuts nice, folds up well, is easy to start and use. The downside is the batteries really do not last combined for more than 30 mins which means I have to charge them 2 additional times to cut my 1/3 acre yard. I cut at the highest setting and once a week so its not a huge/tough cut and only use the self propelled function about 30% of the time. Overall the batteries just do not last long enough. Maybe they should make them 5 aH or 6 in order to last.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hell Sean23,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience with this battery. Please know that the described run time is abnormal. This unit is advertised as running up to 60 minutes with two fully charged 4.0~Ah batteries
It is important to adjust your mowing techniques to make the most out of the battery life! But it goes without saying that that the harder the unit works, the quicker the battery drains. Here are a few mowing tips to help achieve the optimal run time.
1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings. 2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months. 3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily. 4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. 5) Only use the self-propelled feature when needed.
We hope these tips will help! If not, we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934. All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.
This mower is perfect, I have used it twice since my purchase a few weeks ago and I have yet to have any negative thing to say about it. so far i love it and wouldn't think of going back to gas.
Love this mower! Bought it in April, just put it together and charged battery. Battery charged quickly and only parts to assemble were the handles and grass chute. Took mower out to the lawn, raised the deck, which was very easy to raise, held in safety handle , pushed start button, and it started right away! This mower is quiet and very easy to push. It cut beautifully ! Didn't bog down or try to stall out and my grass was pretty high. Battery lasted longer than I expected. Great mower, glad I bought one, no messy gas cans spilling all over and no stinky fumes. You will love this mower, buy one , you will not be sorry!! Their weed wackers are great to!!
My first electric mower left piles of grass behind and did not cut all the blades of grass, even with the grasscatcher! It was not self-propelled and the battery ran out of energy after doing 40% of my 10,000 sq. foot yard. I returned it immediately. That was last year. This year, I tried the Greenworks. It was more expensive, but it was worth it. I got the self-propelled 60-volt 25" dual-blade model with the 2 batteries. The cut was perfect, very clean. It cut every blade and the grasscatcher picked up everything it cut. My backyard looks like a carpet. That is how I like it to look. Best of all, with the 2 batteries, it did the whole 10,000 square ft without running out of charge. I did not use the self-propelled option because I was afraid of running out of charge, but as it turned out, it would have been fine. The second battery kicked in after about 70% of the yard was done. Also my grass was pretty tall, since we had extra rain, which delayed the cut for an extra week! I turned on the self-propelled mode with about 20% of the yard left, and it worked fine, with adjustable speed. AT the highest speed setting it moves! I am ecstatic. This is the best mower I've had.
I bought this one last year and am perfectly satisfied. The batteries last more than long enough to cut the entire lawn, and my neighbors are impressed by how quiet it is. I bought the 60V model, and have since purchased the 60V chainsaw and hedge trimmer
I highly recommend this mower. If your afraid of switching from gas to electric don’t be.This mower is every bit as powerful as my cub cadet that I used for eighteen years. My yard is nearly two acres. It not only mower the whole yard. I still had a forty eight percent charge left on the batteries when finished. The mower never bogged down at all.By all means buy it
