Great mower, depressing battery life

I've had this mower for about a year now, and I'm really disappointed at just how quickly the battery itself stopped holding its charge. We have two batteries, and the short lifespan of one of them is definitely on us for leaving it on too long, but we learned our lesson and were very careful to only charge the new battery when needed. I don't have a huge yard and I now need to charge both batteries about three separate times each in order to get my lawn mowed where I could get almost the entire yard with a single charge initially.
That aside, this is a great mower, excellent power, not that loud and you can really get close to edges when mowing. I just wish I could get it all done at once. I support eco-friendly options, and I really wish that I could recommend this over a gas mower, but I think that it ultimately doesn't come close to being an adequate match.

Wish I had Gas

I bought one of these thinking it would be a good purchase and not have to deal with gas. The mower cuts good but the battery lasts about 15 min if I am lucky ... I had to charge and wait 8 times to finish my lawn obviously a bad choice and I will be returning this tomorrow...

Well, we can't even buy the exact battery that came with the mower, much less find products that use that battery. So what's the point of that.original battery?

I love my new GreenWorks Self Propelled Cordless Mower. I can easily do my entire yard and only use half of the battery. Starting the mower is so much easier then my old gas mower. Easy to clean by tipping over and no spilled gas or oil. The only thing I would like is an easier throttle for the self propelled. It would be nice to have a more active hand controlled throttle where it goes faster the harder you squeeze. The slide throttle isn't as useful for quick changes. I do love that the self propel works even when the blade isn't turning. It's up hill to my shed so it's much easier.

Doe's what it is designed to do. Do not use on wet grass, because it will bog down and not be as efficient. Wet grass sticks to underside and hampers the mower. Takes me about 2 hours to mow and can do it with the 5 amp and 4 amp battery even using the self propel on up slopes. Hedge trimmer and blower are very good. The hedge trimmer works better than my electric corded one. Batteries are way too expensive.

Efficient and fairly quiet. It's a step-up for me to have a self-propelled mower and I like it. But the machine and battery are much heavier than the 19" Greenworks mower I've had for 5 years.

Through tall grass run time is short. Just got a second battery to go longer. Best thing is that you can turn it UPSIDE DOWN to hose off afterwards - try THAT with a gas mower!!
