I previously owned a 40v Greenworks unit. This 60v mower is much improved. It is more sturdily built and the battery charge is longer lasting. So far, I am very pleased.
Yes, I am a real person and this is an honest review on my new 60v buddy. I decided to get rid of my gas powered lawnmower, so I started researching the battery powered mowers on the market. I knew I needed a 21" mower, but my biggest concern was the battery power needed to finish my whole lawn. Well, folks I am Soo happy I made the right choice. This 60v model came with 2 - 4ah batteries, however, they are powerful enough that I only use one battery to do my whole lawn. Wow, I am so happy. I have overall a little over 10,000 sq of land with approx. 7000 that is lawn. I really expected to use both batteries since this is a self propelled mower. So thanks Green works for making a great product. Your product has solved my problem, and that makes me a happy camper. I have included a photo of my 60v buddy happily standing guard in my garage.
Had a 17" push mower but with the wet summer and long green grass I traded it on a 21 self propelled model and it is great. It mulches, bags and has a side shoot. Like all three features. Also bought a greenworks power washer and is great for most homeowner jobs. No more hard to start gas tools.
The best tool purchase I've ever made!!!!! Absolutely Love this mower!!! Easy to use, maneuver, and store. My only wish is that I had the foresight to realize that I would want more Greenworks tools. I'm in the market for a snowblower for the MN winters, but am having trouble finding one that operates on the same batteries. That aside, this really is a terrific mower!!!!!
So excited to own a lawn mower that requires so little maintenance!!! My mower runs on two 4.0 batteries and I rarely even use one up. Definitely the best tool purchase I've made. I wish I would have had the forethought to realize that I would love the battery powered mower so much...that I would want additional tools that would ideally use the same batteries. I want to purchase a snow blower for the MN winters..but am having trouble finding one that uses the same batteries. That aside, the mower really is award winning....this review reflects the tool not the battery.
I received the mower, blower, & string trimmer & got the mower ready to cut my lawn. It was easy to assemble the mower & the manuals were easy to read, using GOOD English ! I used the mower for 90 minutes & stopped. The mower still had 10-15 minutes left in the batteries. The batteries were recharged in 1 hour. This is fine for me, since due to my disabilities , I usually cut the front yard one day, & the back yard the next. This mower has 2 batteries that are placed in the top of the mower, & uses one at a time, switching over when one gets weak. I used the self propelled feature all the time, except when maneuvering around obstacles. This mower is fairly heavy & is a little hard to push over my yard. To give it a good test, I cut the grass from 4" down to 2". My yard has fairly thick Bahia grass , so I thought this was a good test. The mower never slowed down & breezed through everything better, than my gas mower. There is a " turbo mode " that is like a governor, it will increase the blade speed automatically when hitting higher grass. It never used this, but I did try the turbo over-ride button a couple of times to make sure it worked. I am sure that in turbo mode, the batteries would not have lasted as long. Same thing with using self propelled. As I expected, the mower is much quieter than my gas mower. The cutting height is very easy to adjust, using one lever. The mower did not take long to get used to. Top speed is about as fast as anyone would want to walk, about 3 mph. The speed control is right at your thumb on the handlebar. You need to drive this somewhat like driving a car. You need to let up off the self propelled lever just before coming to a stop. If you don't , the drive wheels are locked & it is hard to pull it backwards. I learned this very quickly. I am VERY happy with this mower & happy to get rid of my old gas mower.
I bought this a month ago to replace a 13 year gas self propelled mower. This machine does not disappoint. Cuts very cleanly even in thick zoysia grass and is quiet enough to hear the kids playing in the yard while I cut. One small adjustment to make is that rear wheels lock moving forward for a short time after the self propelled switch is released.
