I was skeptical about battery operated lawn mower but Greenworks does make good quality products. I bought 60v self propelled. Out of box took me 5min to set up. Fully charge battery lasts me more than hr of mowing with half used as self propelled. No issues so far!

IAM in love with my lawnmower

Just used this awesome machine to cut my huge yard. It works perfectly. Way better and safer and less hassle than a heavy, pain in the butt gas lawnmower. I am a disabled female. And I couldn't do my yard with the gas mower I had, not to mention the hassle if was to maintain and start. I will never own anything gas powered again. I mowed my front and back on 2 charge. The self propelled feature is fast and powerful but I didn't even need it because this machine is easy to maneuver and turn. My neighbor came over and said you mowed this all by yourself? He couldn't believe it. Best purchase I've made in a long while

I'll Never Go Back to Gas!

I was blown away by this mower! After winter hibernation, my gas mower was always cranky and difficult to start. This spring, I finally got tired of the hassle after spilling gas on myself (that smell lingers! ick!) and the driveway. I will never never go back to gas now. The mower started right up, purred away, and was so smooth and quiet, I felt like I was vacuuming my lawn! I could feel the power when I came to some thick patches of grass - rather than bogging down and stalling out like my old mower, it sliced right through without skipping a beat.
I took my mower to a large church property we are responsible for maintaining. The big lawn hadn’t had its first spring haircut yet, and I wanted to put my new mower through its paces. And boy was I impressed! The grass and weeds were up to my knees in some places and it had no problem giving a smooth cut. My daughter was using the gas mower at the front of the property - not only did it stall out several times, but by the time she was done, she had blisters all over her hands from the vibration of the mower. Seeing them work side by side on the same property made me realize just how great my new Greenworks mower truly is! I honestly wasn’t expecting it to be that powerful - I was just looking for the convenience of electric, but I am a true battery convert!

This is a great mower for a 5000 square ft yard. Plenty of power and smooth cut. I got this after having excellent experience with 60v blower and trimmer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am extremely happy with my initial uses of this lawnmower. It was easy to unpack and assemble. Once I used to to mow my lawn for the first time, I was floored! Say goodbye to the noise, the gas smell, the hassle of getting a combustion engine started, etc. It made doing the age-old chore of lawn mowing a breeze and actually enjoyable. It seems just as powerful as my old gas mower when it comes to cutting taller grass.. maybe even more so due to the torque of the electric motor. The self-powered features make it super easy to get the job done fast and without breaking a sweat. I feel like I've been welcomed into the future. I love how it folds up for easy storage as space is usually at a premium in our crowded garage. Greenworks nailed it!

Quiet, powerful, lightweight

I just tried out my neighbor’s GreenWorks lawn mower, and was Very impressed. i’ve been using cordless Black & Decker lawnmowers for over 10 years, so I already know about the benefits of no gasoline mower fumes and noise. This lawnmower has many convenience features, which add to the enjoyment of using it. I especially like the self-propelled feature with multiple speeds, the cut control technology, and the light weight of the unit. It cut my yard with no problems. Looking forward to my Black & Decker getting replaced soon.

I have a 1/4 acre yard with a garage, shed, and 2 driveways. Please note that I do NOT use the self propelled option at all. I can't imagine how quick the battery would die if I did. The one battery isn't enough. Thankfully I also bought the blower and trimmer combo (which I actually quite enjoy) that came with the 4AmpHr battery, I need both batteries to finish the job.
After mowing, I do have enough left in the 2nd battery to trim and blow the yard.
The other issue is that there is no suction power at all. The grass that lays flat won't get cut, at all.
I could really like it, but those are 2 MAJOR issues I just can't look past.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The run time of a lawnmower is dependent on the load acting against the unit and fluctuates depending on the height setting, the terrain, grass height, type of grass, whether you are mulching etc - there are so many factors to consider. The run-time of a battery would depend on the load acting on the unit while in use (speed, terrain, unit height, grass height, and density). Please be aware that the more power being used from the lawn mower (i.e. lawn mower speed, terrain, grass height, density, etc.), the faster the battery charge will drain. Here are a few tips to help you extend the run time. 1) Set the mower to the highest cutting height (or 1/3 of the length of grass), mow no more than 1/3 of the total length at a time. 2) Mow in the morning or late afternoon to reduce the heat stress on newly cut grass and ensure that grass is dry. 3) Only use the self-propelled feature when needed. Just one mowing and I’m pleased with this tool. Easy to use controls, no pull-starting, no fumes, no spilling gas, no spark plugs, no changing oil.... Just pop in the batteries and go mow with a quiet, clean machine. I have a .3 acre lot. — The first battery emptied and the second one was left with a 50% charge when I was done.
