This is my first battery powered mower. The battery life actually exceeded my expectation. My lawn is around 13000 sq.ft. and it took me around 50-60 minutes to mow. I usually use up just one 4AH battery plus maybe 10% of second battery. The mower is quiet and powerful. Feel the self-propelled is a must have.
Two complaints so far: the self propelled function is still engaged for a couple of seconds even when you released the handle, locking the rear wheel makes it hard to turn. plus it is rear wheel drive which is less convenient to front wheel in my opinion.
Second minor complaint is seems in the side discharge mode, it throws the clipping closer compared to my previous gas mower, but this is minor issue. The self-propelled issue is sometimes kind of annoying.

Horrible! Self-Propel Didn't Work Out of the Box

I unpacked the lawnmower, and put it together per instructions, but the self-propel wouldn't work from the get-go.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
