Horrible! Self-Propel Didn't Work Out of the Box

I unpacked the lawnmower, and put it together per instructions, but the self-propel wouldn't work from the get-go.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used my 60v self-propelled 21" mower twice now and I am happy I bought it. Goodbye, gas! Easy setup, useful options (e.g., bag, mulcher), it's not loud, and I love that I can fold it up to save space in the garage!

This is the third greenworks mower I have. The first wired one has retired since 2015. The second 40V one is still working for my backyard. Compared to the two, this mower works perfectly with self propelled function. Especially, the strengthened bars make a big improvement on pulling experience. The safety key also enhance Personel protection. No con identified yet after five mowing works till now…as a professional engineer in power engineering, good to see the gradual improvement in greenworks technology.

Battery power has made mowing the lawn enjoyable. I found the Greenworks Pro 60v 21 inch lawnmower to be very well designed and constructed. It is light weight, maneuverable, powerful and the batteries last a very long time. The single lever height control is effortless to use. I was so impressed by this Greenworks product that I later purchased their 60v chainsaw that uses the same battery. I am sold on Greenworks products.

For an electric battery powered mower it cuts great is easy to push, it’s is self propelled and is not noisy. I also don’t have to buy gas anymore. I also have a backpack blower and walk behind edger all are great pieces of equipment and again I don’t need to buy gas.

This lawn mower replaced my aging 18 year old Craftsman gas lawn mower. As I would expect with other battery electric lawnmowers, it is quiet, lightweight, easy to use, and generally works well. There are only two things that I don't exactly like. The first is that "standard settings" don't cut my lawn well. You need to remove the high efficiency blade and you need to use the turbo button. This will drain the batteries quicker. Second, the self propulsion has a delay. When you squeeze the lever, it doesn't immediately go. Then when you let go of the lever, it doesn't immediately stop. This is not the end of the world, but it just takes some getting used to.
