Cut quality suffers with electric mowers!

I bought this last year, cutting my lawn for a season with it. Two things buyers should know about: In an effort to maximize battery life, greenworks and other electric mower manufacturers have reduced the lift on the mower blades. There is less suction to lift up the grass to cut it and/or bag it. Even with the high lift blade, there is a lot less lift than a gas mower. So what happened to my lawn over time is, the grass gets bent over sideways instead of properly cut to length. It's especially noticeable this spring, it looks like a comb-over. In addition, when the lawn is the slightest bit damp in the morning, the grass clippings rapidly collect on the inside of the deck, so I need to clean the deck after every cut. I was hoping to enjoy a quieter and less polluting alternative to gas, but I'm going back to a gas mower and also one that is self-propelled!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When the lawn is being cut uneven, this can indicate a few different things. The first being that the lawn itself is rough or uneven. However, if this is not the case then it is possible that the grass is too tall, or the cutting height is set too low for the type of grass. Try raising the cutting height and reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months.

Love this lawn mower

Bought this two months ago and it's been amazing. Easy to use and easy to clean. Battery life is more than sufficient for me as I usually only use up one battery to mow the entire yard - although my yard is rather small...takes only 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend. I do wish there were some type of small cleaning tool included.

Did a lot of research before buying Greenworks. Of all the products I looked this was serving the purpose for me. But when I received it I was fascinated by it’s look and feel. The components in this tool is beyond my expectations. After using it I can confirm that the battery life is far good.

So far the mower works great. The dual battery is a nice feature and the charging is rapid(I need a charge to complete the whole yard). The mower is light enough to not have to use the drive all the time which is also great to extend battery life. The single lever height adjustment is also a great feature.
