The phone doesn’t fit in the holder. It’s an IPhone 10 and it’s too small for the holder. You didn’t say you had to gave an IPhone protector made by otter to fit in the holder.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our sincerest apologies for any miscommunication surrounding this Defender series holster. True, that belt clip does have to be used in conjunction with the Defender case itself in order to fit the iPhone X/Xs, since the holster clips into either side of the case to create a secure connection. The belt clip does come with the Defender, but we also sell it separately since customers occasionally like to customize their case or buy spare parts. My wife and I have used the Defender series case and holster for several iPhones. I have had no problems whatsoever. My wife on the other hand frequently breaks the holster, and always around the clip anchor area where the metal rod is secured.
