Last four years I have been using H&R Block. Normally I use the online version which is smooth and very user friendly. Choose to “Pre-Pay” for the Deluxe version. Didn’t mind downloading the software but the software program was difficult and cumbersome to use. Not user friendly and did not allow moving through different steps. Will never again use the Pre-Pay software again. Unfortunately with the high price of the online program, I will likely be looking for a more cost effective and user friendly option for 2026.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great program to help with my taxes. I was very disappointed that I could not import my 1099s from Merrill Lynch. I’ve been importing those for many years.

Other than the software changing the source name for the first pension/IRA in the list when another pension/IRA was updated the program seemed to work fine. I submitted a trouble report about this software bug and no one from H&R Block ever contacted me regarding the issue. I submitted my tax return with the bug having never being resolved.

as usual, I got my taxes done quick and submitted. The indication was every thing was good and the refund would be here in about 6 weeks. Three weeks later, the IRS wants to make sure that I am who I said I was which I took care of quickly and was told my refund would show up in nine weeks. the same thing happened last year. I really like doing my taxes, myself and the program makes it easy. However next year I'm going to see if I can get my refund faster if I have a tax person file the return.
