Merrill Lynch is no longer one of the financial institutions that you can import your 1099s from. This had to be done manually and was extremely time consuming.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used your tax software for many years and I have been very happy with it. Its ease of use and clear explanations. I use the downloaded packages because I don’t want any of the my data on the web/cloud. I would like to be able to speak with someone or AI to clarify what the software is doing without having to give access to the entire data set. I believe I can ask the question in general enough terms for you to give me an answer, at least in the beginning.

No backward compatibility sucks, but good for now

It works great every year. Got us a return we weren't expecting, But I was very difficult to find that I could not use the current program to access previous years' returns. And I can't even use previous years software to access previous returns because you remove the old program before adding the new.

The product is great for collecting data and calculating tax due. What I find lacking is explanations of what qualifies or even detail behind calculations. For example a report showing the simple tax calc itself would be nice. It would tell me what tax bracket Im in and if I need to harvest more deductions next year
