Does federal taxes ok, but problems with state version.
Some forms for the state do not automatically complete. I needed to manually enter data and carry info onto other forms. Specially for New York state regarding heating oil credit and MTA commuter tax.

Still average person would not be able to answer the questions or complete the process without help or precious experience. You posted state and federal updates l last I saw 3/20/26. Little info and after I filed. Help appears more superficial than answers. Had to manually correct a few things using forms. I’ve been using it for years and know the quirks and gotchas, mysteries and jumps. I showed my adult child the process for the 1 st time and he looked at me like I was nuts. Because heat mystery is thst the government knows most of what I’m entering already… why a, I not just verifying thet and then finishing return?
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been a user of HR Block software when it was know as Taxcut, which I believe was created in 1993. I do taxes for myself, my kids, parents, in laws and anyone else who asks. I have never had a single problem in those 32 years of doing taxes with this software.
