I claim energy credit and the software required me to attach pdf file. Mainly because the qmid number has 0 according to my AI search. This needs to be fixed. The first time I input my ira contribution is taxable. However when I try to prepare my return 2nd time by going through all the input process, it saying I don’t own any income tax on my ira withdraw. This is completely incorrect. I had no problem last year.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used this software for many years and it had generally been very easy to use. This time, for the 2025 return, it required much more of my time, even though my tax situation was much the same as before. There were some confusing instructions that were not resolved with the Help function, some information was entered more than once, and at the end of the Federal return, where usually there are a half-dozen or less items to review, there were nearly ten times that number, many of which were for automatically entered transactions. Worse, after addressing each one by going to the full form, it is necessary to go through several steps to get back to the list again because the page with the list disappears. The adjusted gross figure from last year, imported to authenticate electronic filing, was wrong, and if I had not checked it, would have resulted in a rejected return. I am likely to try something different next year..
