Origin download contained an error, geting help 😞

Things started out well with input so all 1099 data. Then a question about any RMD with instructions to enter amount. Then a >$10,000 penalty notice popped up. Went back and removed amount but penalties remained. Several minutes of worthless AI interaction finally revealed a phone help number. Half hour of “talking” with bots led no where so after several demands for live help assistance I was rang into a number that informed me of a 32 minute wait, or an offer of a callback. I chose to wait and, true to their word, about 30 minutes in Rebecca answered, and for the next three hours helped me go back thru all parts of my return, at first to no avail. Then she found an available update and helped me download it. We went thru my data again, finding a change in the intent of the RMD question along with a form that the original question caused to be attached to the return, we proceeded to delete the form and worked on past the trouble area.
At this point I was done and I’d Rebecca goodbye, with many thanks for her vast help - fully expecting that I would be invited to rate her help. I was not, but, SHE WAS 6 of 5 IN HER KNOWLEDGE, CARE, PERSISTENCE AND HELPFULNESS. HOPEFULLY YOU CAN REWARD HER.
I returned a few days later and finished my Fed return without incident
My state return presented me with a question about the “amount of my RMdD that was exempt because the contribution was made after age 55 or 65 ( I don’t recall which). Used the number I could support with charity contributions from RMD and finished that way. Still couldn’t find reasoning explaining the question but wasn’t going to endure the bot help thing again.
Finally worked ok ut getting there without Rebecca wasn’t gonna be. Not the most pleasant experience.

Used for 20 years. No longer can import from Merrill. Will switch to a CPA next year. Why are you throwing a good thing away? You have no real competition. Turbo Tax is a non starter.
