I have used the H&R Block Deluxe software to file taxes for myself and two other family members for the past 7 years. We have a rental property, a small business, retirement income and W2 income. The H&R Block software makes it much simpler to file all of these tax returns and income types. I like the way the software asks me questions and leads me down the right path based on the answer. I highly recommend the H&R Block software
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents

I have used H&R block for many years and was happy with the ease of use. Not this year! It kept flagging the gross distribution amounts on several 1099R forms when the amounts were exactly as issued. I called for help and after about 45 minutes of trying everything, gave up. I restarted the program and began from scratch - only to get the same flagged results. I had to print and manually file. I still haven't heard back from either state or federal IRS regarding the letter I sent them.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Good Tax Program. Have used H&R Block software for many years and experienced many positive improvements.Importing last year's taxes is a time saver but do make sure to double check all your information - you may have moved, etc. There are some sections with wording that needs better definitions for the user. The AI was moderately helpful, saved a phone call or two. Saving regularly while filling in information may save you some headaches in the event you accidentally close the program. E-filing is very easy.
Overall, I'll use H&R Block again, next year.
