I have used this software since 2019. Up to now I have been very satisfied. Trying to enter deduction for "Home Office Expenses" has been frustrating. In one direction using Form 8829 and Schedule C does not work. Form 8829 looks nothing like the IRS Form 8829. Under the HELP/Questions I am told not to use form 8829 but use IRS Form 587 and input the deduction on schedule F? Maybe the Premier version works better.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

I have used the Deluxe program for at least fifteen years and have become very familiar with it. I'm an DIY investor so over the years my tax issues can get a little complicated. As stated, I've learned to work around some deficiencies especially in the state program. However, I have recommended the program to both my sons and they are now both using it on an every year basis.

OK for most retired couples with simple returns

I have used this for several years and its capable. Unfortunately they no longer give you one free state e-file, although you still get up to 5 free federal electronic submissions. The package seems to be somewhat silent on this change. Also moving this software to a new computer is not easy if you didn't specifically keep the old CD or activation code.

This review is for the deluxe edition. The software is easy to install and use. One confusing area in the program has to do with the RMD and excess distributions. It's not intuitive or friendly to use.
