As usual, H&R Block made a task I hate easy. Every year I am grateful to have this program do this job for me efficiently. I finish less stressed--who would have thought!
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import, Fast
Overall good, but does not handle making an IRA contribution and then recharacterizing to a Roth IRA. The questionnaire will get you taxed on the contribution which should have a basis if done from a non retirement account. You have to go into the forms and override what the program does.
1. There should be a way to print one page of a form. 2. There should be a place on the state form to enter estimated tax payments. Who would think you have to go back to the federal form and put it in under deductions as if you are itemizing when you're not. It doesn't even go on a Schedule A. 3. There should be a place on the state form to put where you want your Direct Deposit to go. The federal form asks for this info after you start to e-file, but if you are mailing in the state form, you don't get this chance.
The IRS gave me a PIN to use, and your software did not prompt me to enter it. This should be one of the regular questions since so many people have suffered identity theft. I filed and was rejected. Then the rejection report described how to enter the pin. This should have been a question as part of the filling out of forms.
