Believe me...if I can do our taxes with this, anyone can use it! It really IS that simple. Just gather up your background info, and the software asks you all the relevant questions. We're getting almost $2,000 back this year...that's way more than a competitor software we used to use got for us!

I've used H&R Block tax program for many years. I started using the program when it was called TacCut. It's an easy program to use.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import, Fast

I do not like a scroll bar within a page that has a scroll bar. You can miss some important stuff. Better to continue on another page.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund

I bought H & R Block this year instead of Tax Act. I was surprised that H & R was as easy to use as Tax Act and made me feel comfortable when I was ready to file.

I can’t believe you charged me twice!

I’m typically pretty happy with this, but I made a minor error on one of my 1099s this year and had to refile. Since the federal return was rejected, the state return was held pending correction. When I resubmitted, a SECOND state filing fee showed up on my debit card. Why was I charged twice when it wasn’t even filled the first time??
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues

Clear and concise

So far so good. Clear instructions. I found it easier to use then Turbo tax which I used in 2016. Never used internet software previously. I still need to do MA and CA. What are the costs for those two states?
