I have been using H&R for several years and the filing process has always been easy. However, as life/tax events happen, the ability to question H&R professionals has not been easy. The 800 # is automated and does not navigate well, an account id must be created to join a community forum in hopes of finding a specific tax answer and I have been unable to find or interact with the "live chat" feature that is promoted on the software (which links you to creating an account). I would like an easier communication process, but I'm guessing the idea is to promote going to a local office.
I have used H&R Block tax software for the last several years. It makes filing taxes easy and painless! The software prompts you to think about possible deductions, and better yet, EXPLAINS them! Thank you, H&R Block!
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast
I have used H&R Block software for years and have NEVER been disappointed. Easy to use, your questions answered (whatever they may be..) and I cannot speak too highly of their service. As long as I'm filing taxes, I will use H&R Block!! Thank YOU!

I like it, and will continue to use it. But I wish it did a little better at pulling info from prior years data files. Specifically, I do not understand why I have to manually go to my prior return to get data on depreciation expenses like mid quarter convention and depreciation method. We know the file has that info, I do not understand why the new year program does not import that from last year.
The same thing goes for the question about vehicle usage in schedule C. "Did you use the standard mileage rate the first year?" The program knows the answer to this, it is the same answer as last year for this vehicle.
Have forgotten how many years I've used HRB/TaxCut Deluxe tax prep package. Always worked very well. Very easy to input data. Good sequencing and explanations. For the first time this year I needed support on a tax question. When I FINALLY got to the right person, she was very helpful and knowledgeable. However, getting there was not easily done. The 800# provided had the usual tree of not helpful choices and dead ends. Fortunately I got a live person (technical support) and then ultimately transferred to an actual tax person.
