Never Felt Comfortable

I purchased H&R Block Deluxe 2017 Software for the second time because I used it the 2016 software when filing that return. However, I did not feel comfortable with the filing done for 2017 because the software did not clearly instruct how to make filings to my satisfaction.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import, Fast
Cons: Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Can't Live Without it!

Have used this tax software for 10 years. Early versions had bugs, but in recent years works flawless. Most used features: 1) Date import, 2) Previous year comparison. A must have.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast

Fairly user friendly, but some glitches

The Fed software is mostly correct and easy to use. However, it tells you to do your own form 8606, and then does not tell you to put the 8606 with your other forms that you send to the IRS. The NJ software is just wrong. It cannot figure out the correct amortization of a bond premium.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to fix issues

Most frustrating year ever using HR Block

Used HRBlock for 6 years and this year was excruciating. AGI would not transfer (had to override program). Previous 2016 software info would not transfer until I had to manually find it. I do not recommend!
Pros: Fast
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare, Hard to import

understandable tax preperation

Used H&R Block for years, worked well, Except this year! Printing tax forms was impossible. Wouldn't print forms correctly, stopped in middle kept printing same forms,and others not at all.Couldn't use E-file had to mail taxes. Never knew there was a limit to w-2's for e-file can't have more than one job on a joint filing. Didn't get my money's worth this year !! VERY DISAPPOINTED THIS YEAR!! I don't recommend 2017 program. Yes, checked everything on my end was updated.Only way I got it to print was to print each form separately one side!!!
