Easy software to understand and use

I had been using Turbo Tax for 15 years and tried H&R Block for the first time. Wow! I was amazed at the ease of the software, easy to understand. It took me less time to get my taxes done! Plus the software is cheaper that Turbo Tax.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Quick, helpful guidance

I bought this software in late 2017. It was not difficult to use. However, I think that the format of the 1040 should be more as a spreadsheet, where various dollar amounts could be entered as I would by hand. It is easier to follow the 1040 format. I do think that the SS calculations should be done automatically, as they are now in the Block format. That will save time and be accurate.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import
Cons: Time consuming

HR Block Tax Program for 2017

I have used HR Block Tax programs for many years and have very good experiences and little to no problems. Usually we filed our return electronically. This year we had serious problems with problems with Inherited IRA Income. In the past we have had no problem with this Inherited IRA income.. When doing the accuracy Review this year the program said that the Inherited IRA needed Data verification. We spend a lot of time making changes to the Inherited IRA entries but the program would not accept our changes and because we could not satisfy the program with our changes to the Inherited IRA it said that we could not file electronically. So we had to submit the tax return by mail.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not clear what the program is doing with the data

When the program audits the data and finds no issues, then when I go to submit numerous errors are found, simple ones where my name is missing, SS# missing, all data the program has elsewhere.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
