Comparable software and cheaper

Did two tax returns. OK for the most part. Pros...the price. Cons...wouldn't allow me to figure state penalties, and printed forms I did not select.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import
Cons: Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Explanation of forms

Your system would not file by efile because it stated I had issues with form 5695, stating that I had more than one copy of form 5695, you could not have a form 5695 for each spouse. I went back to the form and found no problems. The system do not explain what the statement meant about the forms. I was totally confused and did not know what to do. So I hit the print button to mail it in myself. Secondly, I owed my state for taxes, but was not explained to why, I never had to pay state taxes, I am a 70% disabled vet. I will not buy this product again.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare

Update Issues on Mac Every Time

The software for preparing individual tax returns is great, HOWEVER, Block really, really needs to fix the updating process for the Mac. Every update hangs up saying it is updating, but it never does, so we have to call Block and have a complete new program sent to us by email. Why doesn't this get fixed??
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to fix issues

It was easy to run I think it was easer then the tax software I used last year. The cover page for the print out copy was so so looking

Have been using the software for thepast 23 years with total success. Just follow the step by step instructions and use the guide it portions of the software. Will continue using it always!!!!

Failure to pull all data from previous year return

I have been using your income tax program for the past several years. When I filed my 2016 return, I elected to assign part of my 2016 refund to my 2017 tax year liability. I forgot I choose this option when I filed my 2017 return. Even though your 2017 program pulled data from the 2016 return as a starting point for the 2017 return, it failed to pull the portion of the 2016 return refund carried to 2017 for both the federal or the state returns. This failure has delayed my refunds for 2017 in both cases. I don't understand why your program does not pull this important data when it pulls all the other data from the previous year.
