Could be easier

Hard to find the Obamacare question. Hard to transfer completed tax returns to a thumb drive.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very good tax software with some problems

I have been using H&R Block Tax software for over 7 years. The basic program is very good. My issues with the 2017 version is that I have dual 4K UHD monitors. The page did not display very well (looks squeezed vertically) AND basic printing did not work as the page was very squeezed, only about 1/3 of a full line was used. I had to find a work around using MS XPS printer and THEN printing a hard copy. If these two issues were not present I would have rated the software a 5.
Cons: Hard to fix issues

Seemed less helpful this year. More issues than ever before. No confidence in the program.

I've been using H&R Block software and it's predecessors TaxCut since beta versions 35+ years ago. Still great. Easy to use.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Fast

Used over a decade. Reliable once you understand where everything goes and what it needs from you. Easily imports last year's data and gets you going quickly until the end of the return.
Yes, there are sections where you'll need to refer to the IRS website, tax books, and even a tax consultant, but that's not your fault or H&R's, it's the IRS's super-complex 10,000+ pages of tax code at work.
What's really nice is that H&R Block continues to work on slower, older PCs with older OSs.
