Deluxe 2017 H&R Block Return Prep Review

Preparation of my 2017 Federal Return was very straight forward and I only spent a minimum amount of time to do it. The only issue has been I received a notice from the IRS that the tax due calculation produced a value $476 greater than their calculation and they remitted the difference. I don't know how that occurred but since it is in my favor I am not complaining.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

I've been using H&R Block software for several years. It is easy to use and the documentation as well as questions asked make me confident that my federal taxes will be accepted. I plan to purchase the software every year.

Where the print return feature is in the flow of the program (not at the end after the return is submitted but earlier in the flow) caused me to believe the return had been submitted when in fact it had not. This assumed submission was on April 2. We discovered that our tax payments had not been electronically deducted on April 30. As a result we were two weeks late submitting our tax returns (Federal and State).
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Terrible - my taxes were "rejected" but for I was not notified. I finally was told to print and mail my (now late) taxes while they "figured it out"
