why was the software incorrect at computing my tax

I have used HR for the last five years and had only a few small I problems except for this time. I have received a letter from the IRS discussing my short fall on taxes and fees owed,

Had some tricky bits with our taxes this year due to some inheritance. The H&R Block software was very well labeled with the interviews and forms. I was able to zero in on just what I needed (after filing for an extension because the estate didn't have the forms done on time) and was able to fill in all the boxes right the first time.
