Does the job; interview process is clear, let's you know what to expect. If you realize later that you did not include something, you can go back to the correct section and fill in the information for that part. It takes the guess work out of how to fill in some of the IRS tax forms, which can be confusing even if you have a good knowledge of income tax issues. The interview asks you simple questions, you answer, then the program fills in the convoluted IRS forms. :)

I bought the 2017 income tax software on CD in December, 2017. This enabled me to prepare a better estimate of my tax liability for 2017 before paying the 4th estimate for 2017 in January, 2018.
Pros: Easy to install, Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to fix issues

This is the eight year in a row in which I have used the H&R Block Deluxe tax software. It has been easy to use and I honestly believe that it has saved me a significant amount in tax preparation costs; on the order of several hundred dollars each year. It is thorough enough in the questions it asks that I don't think I have missed any possible deductions.
The ability to import tax information from previous years is a significant bonus. So too is the included feature which analyzes your return to look for items which make your return likely to trigger an audit; giving a peace of mind when you finally send it off.
I plan to buy this same program next year and have recommended it to several friends already.
