I've used H&R Block tax software forever, and, like this year, I usually buy the Federal plus state and eFile. Most of the process was ok. However, it has what I consider to be a fatal flaw. When I was ready to eFile, the program did a final accuracy check. It said there was one minor item to review, but that there shouldn't be a problem with the pirates...ummm...IRS accepting it. When I checked, it said that my wife's AGI from last year didn't match. We filed jointly the year before, so there was only one AGI listed, and it was correct. I eFiled the return to the bandits, and they rejected it, saying that my wife's PIN from Last year didn't match. Well, we mailed our claim last year, so there was no PIN. But the kicker was that when I clicked the link to fix the problem, it took me to something completely different, something that I have been unable to fix. The link took me to a SSN 1099, and said that "We noticed that you're over 62 so you need to enter the amount you received from SSN in 2025 in box 11." Well, I haven't filed for SSN yet, so I haven't received any money from them. However, there is no way to enter anything in box 11. I entered ZERO in several other boxes that were editable, and seemed pertinent to solving the impasse. I refiled the return and promptly got an email stating that the thieves rejected the return again. I tried again -noticing that the SSN 1099 was reset to the same settings that it displayed before I made my original changes. I was met with the same results. I tried a few more times before I finally gave up and resolved myself to the unpleasant fact that I would have to print and mail my return, even though I paid extra for the convenience of being able to eFile. H&R Block needs to put their heads together with the crooks in DC, figure out that just because someone is eligible to take SSN, doesn't necessarily mean that they did take SSN, then, fix this problem. I can't give it more than one star because of this fault.

I am 67 but I haven't applied for SS pension benefits. Your software doesn't ask if I have or not. It forces upon me forms I can't fill in because I'm not receiving SS payments

I have used H&R Block software to do my taxes for many years and will continue to use it. It is a thorough analysis of all tax saving opportunities

We appreciate your time in sharing this with us! Please feel free to contact us at 1-800-472-5625 if we can help to make you have a 5-star experience. Your feedback is important to us!
1) Would like to have the option under the general forms section to print the1040 and schedules separately. 2) Federal return needs to have taxes withheld included in the Taxes, Penalties & Payments section. They are in the NC return. 3) The Summary for 1099B issuers was new and somewhat confusing as it took some time to determine how the individual 1099B's would be listed for each issuer. Wasn't obvious how to find the individual 1099s after they were listed when viewing the issuer summary since thinking the edit option only applied to the issuer summary.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

Got a message at the end that I should consult a tax pro. What’s the point of software if you need a pro at the end?
Cons: Hard to prepare
