I expected a refund based on past experience with not much changed from previous year. I did the seniors version 1040 form standard deduction first which ended up without any refund; thought I had made an error so I did it again with same result. So I used the regular 1040 form, again standard deduction and it resulted in the expected refund. Why the difference? I'll never use the senior's version again no matter which vendor I choose.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Software claims it supports Windows 10. It would not install on my Windows 10 and would not say why and did not provide any error codes. Windows system logs did not provide any more information. The software got corrupted after it was installed on Windows 11 requiring the state portion to be reinstalled. The software kept complaining it could not reinstall the state with no further information and the "get-state" menu option was grey-out. A complete remove and reinstall didn't help in fact, it thought it was already registered and complained "Could not find state program" or something of the like. I found the state install buried in an install folder but your software won't let it install outside of the main program. I had to find a 3rd Windows 11 PC to install it on. A lot of time wasted. All your program had to do is provide some error information so the problem could be fixed. Your software simply says, "Yeah I couldn't do that" without anything further - kind of like a big middle finger.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

Lack of features doom this otherwise good product

The program still works fine but the font and icons are too small to read, and cannot be enlarged. I will no longer be able to use this program as a result. A more minor complaint is that the program does not allow bulk entry of basis for capital gains. I have over 1,000 individual line items with proceeds downloaded from the broker, but for which I need to compute the basis myself. Entering these one at a time is extremely tedious. I need a facility to upload the data in a spreadsheet or .csv file or some other form.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
