I have used this software for 3 years. I appreciate how it doesn't force me to a web app with my data in the cloud and instead lets me keep it all locally on my pc.
However, I have faced problems that are hard to determine how to fix. This year the review said it found errors in Schedule D but didn't highlight any exact items as the problem. I found that in a list of stock transactions one of them when Edited didn't have the same information the software showed in the list. Another error occurred from form 1116 which your software didn't need to complete at all due to the small dollar amounts involved. Your support generally had no clue in how to fix these things, suggesting deleting things instead--which then can cause other problems.

The state software failed to import the correct income from the federal portion of the return and wouldn't permit me to enter the correct numbers manually, rendering it useless. I will be requesting at least a partial refund.

The Federal return portion functioned smoothly.
The AL state tax was very clunky. It shows instructions that access forms that are not correct. The instructions may have been correct with a previous version. At one time the system showed that my NY state tax had been filed. I don’t have a NY state tax module or anything related to NY. One of the forms displayed different than the final form that printed and got filed, Form 40 V.
I wasted a significant amount of time attempting to complete my taxes. The AL state tax module appears to need a significant overhaul and update.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
