I’ve been using H&R Block software now for like 5 years, maybe 6. Super easy to use. You are walked step by step throughout the process. By doing it myself with this software, I am saving a lot of money. No appointment needed. I do it on my schedule, when I want.
Pros: Easy to import

Difficult to use

This program skips through a lot of necessary items. It charged me twice for preparing my state refund because it demanded that I update again before filing.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Little things keep this from being 5 stars

I didn’t check foreign address but the software thinks I did. Places my address information in the fields associated with a foriegn address so it fails review and I have to manually move it. There are questions that would be much easier to answer all but for a few absent words of explanation such as questions of whether my spouse and I both have conditions met. I’m not married. How do I answer? Simply things hamper this software. And of course the inability to make payments to certain states directly through the software. Wow how did I give it 4 stars? Still simpler than the competition.

My two pet peeves about this software
1) when you start a list for an item, and later go back to that item, you have to choose which list to open. The software ALREADY KNOWS where the number in the item came from, WHY does it ask you to choose from a list? Just go to the list that created the total.
2) when adding the last number to a list, you can close the list without the list accepting that number. I have seen this on multiple occasions.

Otherwise, terrific tax prep software. Do wish the state returns were cheaper, though.

There’s a reason I don’t change programs. Needed info is stored year to year , fed and state programs work together , even I can follow step by step instructions and price can’t be beat.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast
