Hi I had two problems with the software for 2018 taxes.
The first: The program imported info from 2017 taxes. For some unknown reason on my IRA form the withdrawal amount was not entered correctly on the IRA form. I withdrew around $4700 but a number about $66,000 or so was entered. On the wife’s IRA withdrawal the amount she withdrew was entered correctly. I rechecked numbers, erased numbers, entered them again with same result. So, I started all over again but this time I DID NOT IMPORT data from 2017 taxes. This time all was entered correctly. Appears to me that something happened to my IRA info when it was imported from 2017? The second: At the last stop before emailing taxes to IRS , a table showed how much the refund would be. Further down the table was another dollar figure of about $54 or so. This number was added to my refund amount. I have no idea where that amount came from so I deleted the number from my refund amount.
Used this program for years never had a problem. Did 2 returns this year both OK. Did the third one and it was rejected by IRS. Did the accuracy review, etc. all looked good when I sent it. Went back to see what went wrong and nothing there. I saved it and all info was gone. Had to import all info again. Same as before - this time accepted. It should have at least saved the info I put in. Very disappointed. Wasted a lot of time.
