I lost confidence in the software this year because of major bugs with the 1099-B section. It repeatedly overwrote and changed entries and incorrectly calculated the capital gains. I wasted hours on this. I had to wait for two software updates for it to be fixed. I'm still nervous about the final calculations.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this because I have been using for about 10-15 years and I was mostly happy with the product. This year (2026 for 2025) however, I had to file an amended return for 2023 and 2024 and was disappointed that I could not eFile them. I was pretty disappointed because of it.

Software works very well, helps figure out all the forms, etc you might need. What the government is asking for it too excessive and should be restructured, but H & R block helps average people navigate the ocean of forms, etc.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

I couldn’t file my state return. The state software update failed with TCUpdate quit unexpectedly error. Block suggestions did not fix the problem. There was no issue in previous years.
Cons: Time consuming

K1 entry is poor, especially on the State Tax forms. Please make K1 entry more robust and interview style like the rest of the software.
