I was a driver for Lyft periodically in 2025. I have e-filed my tax return and it has been accepted. However I'm being told that because Lyft is changing its accounting method, I have to complete and submit to the IRS Form 3115, Application for Change in Accounting Method. But I am not in management and have no knowledge of accounting in general nor what method Lyft uses. I shouldn't have to have anything to do with this form. How to I handle this?
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

Federal return was fairly straight-forward. I found the Alabama return very confusing. Some Alabama information had to be manually entered on Forms even though the same information was in the Federal Forms.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents
