I"VE BEEN USING H&R BLOCK FOR THE LAST TEN+ YEARS. IT USED TO BE SIMPLE AND ENJOYABLE . NOW IT'S CONFUSING AND STRESSFUL TO USE IT... PLUS THE COST HAS GONE UP WITH LESS IMPROVEMENTS..I MAY HAVE TO TRY TURBO TAX NEXT YEAR..
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import documents

I used the software for the first time because turbo tax was no longer available for windows 10 and my computer was too old to update to windows 11. VERY glad your product was still available for windows 10 and worked great. Please continue to offer your services for windows 10 for those of us who don’t want to throw away a perfect computer

I was unable to e -file as program wanted state tax info which was not applicable as live and work in Nevada. Kept showing error, suspect since my company headquarters was in N.J.

Still issues with macOS version

For the third year in a row, the built-in online updater still fails, updates download but don't install. Same with the State module. I have to contact support, get the direct link to download and install the State module, and manually download and install all updates. There is still an issue with printing as well; I have to uninstall all printers, print to PDF, reinstall my printer, and then print the PDF file to get proper scaling. I found that solution on a Reddit forum. I have complained about these issues for 3 years at least, with no resolution. They simply don't care about learning to properly follow the macOS security guidelines, as I have many other software packages which auto-update correctly. My MacBook Pro is an M4 with 32GB of RAM, running macOS Tahoe(the latest). Can not recommend

Good for the most part

It works well but I have a few suggestions. I had a refund coming and I told it that I wanted the total refund to go to my 2026 taxes. After reviewing my data, I found a couple of mistakes and the original number stayed the same but I wanted it all to go to next year's taxes. Why doesn't that number change? It took me a long time to find how to change that amount. It should not be that hard. If the number changes, ask if you want the amount to next year's taxes to change.

Cons: Time consuming
