Mostly great

I have used H&R Block over many years and find it very clear and easy to use. This year, printing specific forms seems to be more difficult, if not impossible. I only want to print what I need using a minimum of pages. The system forced me to print schedules I did not need because they came automatically with the 1040. Also, several pages printed with only about one-quarter of the page being used, even though the form did not need to be split where it was split. I tried to find other ways to print the minimum, but the software did not provide any options beyond the category of "Selected forms/materials".
Pros: Easy to prepare

I bought this 2018 software several months ago in preparation to do my 2018 taxes. I have used H & R Blocksware many years and it makes it easy 'after I complete my taxes" to e file to my local bank and not have to worry about printing and sending in the forms and then waiting for a check . A great time and money saver. I can easily do my taxes without paying a tax preparation expert.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming

Better than Turbo Tax Deluxe

Bought this to replace Turbo Tax Deluxe as that softwaret was double the price of this and had less features. This is a better product at half the price. Transferring data was seamless, I imported financial data quickly and filed Federal and NYS for free with no issues. Good bye Turbo Tax; you over-hyped, overpriced rip off. H&R Block is a much better product!

A few quirks in the 2018 program

Some odd things in this program - our address on an imported W-2 had "foreign" selected (it's a PA address) with no country selected. This error was caught by the validation. I checked the import of the W-r and did not see this error right after the import. In the eFile routine, the imported 2017 AGI was -3000. Where did that value come from? Had to do an override to correct. These are really basic errors that should not happen, so what else did I not catch?
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good BUT

Been using for years and have always had same problem. After preparing taxes it is very difficult to print returns and exit the program. You get looped around and round. Lots of wasted ink and paper Frustrating!!!!!!!!!

Title adequately reflects the program

I have used this program for years. This year I found what appears to be an error. My taxable pension income number is not the same on my Federal as on my NYState program. It appears to be incorrect on the Federal program.
Pros: Easy to prepare
