I tried out H & B Block for the first time this year, was very satisfied and will use it again next year. I have an unusual tax situation that the product I used previously did not handle well, but this product handled the situation with no problem. The price was also great!
Pros: Easy to prepare

I've been a do-it-yourselfer for several years, using H&R software programs. It's very good. However, if you want to sit down with me, I'll be glad to share screen by screen some suggestions for clarification/help screen information/more user-friendly ideas. Thank you , MIKE

Program Updates are a nightmare

I bought the software at the end of 2017 on line. Have been using H&R for the past 5 years and this is the first time I ran into to the update issue. Kept getting error messages on the federal updates with no way of fixing. I've been dealing with software programs for the past 30 years so its not that I am not familiar with software. Bought the state program and cannot get to it. I will need to contact H&R by phone if I can reach them. Something was not right this year, but then H&R will support you with the IRS.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Software is so easy to use

I purchased the software online at a savings. It provided a free State Software and a free E-File for Federal. All I had to do was answer the questions. If I didn't understand the question I could ask for more explanation. It was so easy to use.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

This program was sent to me in the mail in Dec/Jan. I don't start my taxes until late February.

I have always used the H&R Block software except one year. That year I used Turbo Tax and was so confused. H&R is so much more user friendly and easy to use....will never change again. sometimes you need to go to IRS and read publications but instructions to follow are super clear.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast
