I am retired and thought my taxes would be simple this year. I still bought H&R block and I am glad I did. Every aspect of health insurance, income, and Medicare was covered. The process was clear and easy to follow.
1. When, in frustration at IRS rejecting my e-file, I chose to print and mail my return. On the COVER PAGE when it listed the forms I needed to attach to the front of the first page, the 1099-R forms listed started with 2nd..... The first attachment was OMITTED. 2. It would have helped to have some reference to where on the IRS transcript to look for the AGI.
The software was unable to efilemy PA state return. When the net gain from stock sales is negative number the program was unable to exile. HR should fix this
Program failed to carry all amounts from 1099-int correctly to return. Although multiple forms were added one of the 1099-int failed to be entered on Schedule B. Very dis-appointed. NY state program does not allow for federal 401(k) distribution which is deductible from NY AGI.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
