Still confuses the heck out of me

Why can't any of this be less complicated? What a pain in the behind.
Software is no easier to use this year than all the previous years.

I’ve used H&R Block tax software for years. I like the friendly interface. I do taxes for all my children so the free w-files are most welcome. Only thing is the cost of the state software if you need multiple states.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

I have relatively simple taxes, so I find that doing my taxes myself saves me time and money. I had multiple W2s and overpaid into my 401k, and the sw correctly flagged it and gave me suggestions. I was able to file federal and state electronically and received my refunds quickly

I have been using H&R Block software for years and last year I turned 73 so I had to calculate my IRA RMD. There is no calculator or questionnaire in the software to guide the user. I had to do that independently. There are a list of warnings that have no relevancy to my return and on form fields that have been filled out correctly. Very confusing and unnecessary. Form print should be sent to windows print so that unnecessary forms aren’t printed out needlessly.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

Absolutely frustrating!! I appeared to be all finished and ready to eFile. I was STOPED...dead in the water. I was told to DO UP DATES!!! I had done all the updates I saw. Actually beyond frustrated!!!

Useful and filed my returns but needs improvement

Have been filing with H&R Block several years now and this years seems the software is NOT as functionally useful as in previous years.
Examples: I will go to show form - whether the mini version or the whole form, if I click on any of the gray fields that the software filled in, I get as expected the OVERRIDE or cancel. I wanted to see where the software arrived at the particular number, you need to use override (okay I get it), but when looking for where the number comes from it tells me the 'entry is not carried here from another form' which makes no sense as it came from somewhere. Had this happen nearly a dozen times both federal and state. What I do like about this software is that it easily downloaded ALL my brokerage statement.
