Have used H&RBlock/TaxCut for years now and find it generally quite satisfactory. The option to pay the IRS by credit card is a bit offensive, not informing the user of the considerable H&RBlock fee until after it has been chosen and then not reminding the user that once the 1040 is filed the choice of payment option cannot be changed. I missed that obscure detail and thus am on tenterhooks what may happen next when they get my check.
I hate it! My claim keeps getting rejected by the IRS! My AGI was put in by BLock and its being rejected. Why on earth would you keep letting this happen?
Have been using your software for years. You can tell it has been designed by the leading tax experts. Logical process and easy e-file. I organize my yearly tax information to match the flow of the software.
great interview makes/leads way. carry over information capitol loss/gain not carried over phone helpers, techs, tax helpers, are the bests I've been using product over 20 years that says it all.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
This is he second time I am trying to file my taxes with this software. This maybe all my fault. For someone that is computer savvy, I would very much recommend. I could not be fair in rating the questions below, because of my limited ability.
I found the 1099-B entry a bit confusing. My 1099-B had many sale items and it didn't look as if the software covert that situation. After reluctantly clicking NEXT everything worked out OK.
Your Missouri software needs to be checked/verified and improved. I'm retired military and the military pension is 100% exempt. The numbers on the return didn't appear to be correct but I had made all the correct entries. It appeared the military pension wasn't deducted. I couldn't find a means of verifying it was handled properly.
My county in Missouri collects personal property tax. That tax is a deduction but you don't make the required form available (MO-A). I could download the form from Missouri but that would prevent using E-file. I didn't take the deduction for that reason.
Working through the product was largely understandable. Two suggestions: 1.Make PENSION income reporting a bit easier to find; 2. Make where to post reporting prior estimated tax payments that had been made easier to find. Otherwise, overall the product was efficient, effective, and accurate. I would definitely recommend it to others, and I plan to use it again next year.
