An old friend in need

I have been using taxcut since 1986. That was well before H&R block acquired it.
At the time it was alocal developer. I am aCPA but hate taxes. My primary interest has been cost accounting.

I have used HRB software for over 10 years. It has great features, is easy to use, and is very thorough.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Filling out the information for the questionnaires was usually straightforward. The only place I had difficulty was for Form 1116, "Foreign Tax Credit" that I had never dealt with before. IRS instructions weren't very clear. H&R Block software did a great job of filling out the IRS forms with the correct information.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

been using for several years after abandoning TTax...glad I did. One minor item, H&R accuracy review keeps listing some ( a few) form numbers/entries to be checked for accuracy, but never accepts the fact that you did check them. More an annoyance than anything. Small quirk.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

This is the second year I've used this software. I like it. I was able to chip away at preparing my return. The prompts were clear, and entry was easy. I look forward to buying this product again next year.

I would like to work directly on the worksheets/forms and still be able to e-file. When I try some entries, it's flagged and says this will disable e file. Sometimes I don't need the interview and many times the interview says the program doesn't handle the situation and I have to work directly on the forms but then I can't e-file...Mainly K-1s AMT etc,etc. What gives?? How do you import say 1099s after you used the figures aren't final version? I had to spend alot of time deleting info so I could import the final tax figures---boo!!
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents

Excellent Tax Software

We've used this software for many years & we're completely satisfied with it. Before that we used TurboTax, but after weI used H&R Block (called TaxCut) one year, we never used any other software after that. It's easy to use & we've never been audited.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
